Last Month Set Year's Record for Business Sales
With a total of 1,298 small and mid-sized businesses sold, July was the most active month yet this year. By contrast, there were 1,075 completed deals in July 2009. SBA Incentives Lead To Nearly $30 Billion In Small Business Loans
In a recent press release, the SBA said it has received a total of $730 million under the ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) passed by Congress on Feb. 17, 2009. The funds have helped the SBA boost lending with incentives to borrowers, such as waiving loan fees, and to lenders, by guaranteeing up to 90% of the loans they provide to small businesses. US Senate Considering Extension Of SBA Lending Incentives
A bill to extend the popular incentives that helped boost lending for small business acquisition and expansion last year and earlier this year may be passed by the US Senate. Among other things, the legislation is intended to waive loan fees and provide lenders with up to 90% guarantee under the SBA 7(a) and 504 loan programs.
