Applications and Benefits in Your Manufacturing Environment
Part one of this two part workshop reviews and defines lean manufacturing and the five-step process of lean manufacturing. The second part of the workshop is intended to provide a logistics overview of lean concepts and principles. Attendees will apply these principles in an in-class exercise and a "mini" kaizen activity.
Topics to be covered include:
* Defining lean in the eyes of the customer
* Identify value added and non-value added activities
* Develop lean deliverables, standard work, visual control and performance measurements
* Instituting "flow" and implementing "push"
* Striving for perfection
