USC LAW SCHOOL PRESENTS A CLINIC FOR SMALL BUSINESS

On March 12, 2008, the Los Angeles Chapter of SCORE, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Athletic Club and USC's Gould School of Law, will hold a seminar for entrepreneurs and business people who are interested in learning about starting a business on solid legal ground.
Michael Chasalow, Law Professor and Director of the USC Gould School of Law Small Business Clinic, will provide attendees with information on setting up legal structures that will protect business assets at start-up and foster success as the business grows.

* The difference between an LLC, a C-corporation and a an S-Corporation and how to determine which one is right for your business
* Why shouldn't you just operate as a partnership or a sole proprietorship?
* What are the issues that co-owners should address and resolve in a "Shareholders Agreement" before starting a business together?
* How to protect your house and other assets if your business does not succeed?
* What should you look for in an attorney, and what questions should you ask before hiring that person?
