Note:  Sales of small businesses in California are still down overall in 2008 over last year record sales. Several economic factors contributing to this include:  lower equity in homes for down payment assistance to buy a business, more business owners holding onto their business in a time of uncertainty, and more potential business buyers gravitating to more "secure" jobs in the corporate arena.
