Profitable on-line book business. We\'re selling approximately 27,000 books with a total retail value of just over 400,000. They are of all types, such as fiction, history, science and self-improvement, plus a few hundred VHS and DVD movies and music CDs. These books are concurrently listed with Amazon, Alibris and ABE books. You can move them (to your home, for instance), or take over the lease where they are now, in the beautiful small coastal town of Point Reyes Station, in prestigious Marin County, about 20 miles north of San Francisco. You can simply sell online, or run the associated “retail” business. I\'ve put quote marks around “retail” because it is a very unusual model. We call it the Marin Media Exchange. We give books away to schools, institutions, and to the general public. That\\\'s right: people can come in and just take the books that don\'t have online value – for free. Of course we keep the ones that have value, but the ones left over are still very appealing. By giving them away, that encourages people to donate the books they no longer want, some of which we sell online. So, everyone wins! My wife and I have always enjoyed going through the boxes of books that come in, and seeing what surprises await. We have quite a collection at home now, since we can\'t resist keeping some of them for ourselves. It has become a very beloved business in the community. There are other ways to acquire books also, so you can decide whether you want to work with the public, or quietly by yourself. Or, perhaps you\'d enjoy a mixed model. For instance, you could be open to the public on Saturdays, and work alone on other days. There are no employees now, but it certainly expandable if that is your wish. Although this business is really quite simple, full training is included for anyone who would like to learn all the details. This business has been really enjoyable, but I\'ve returned to my previous business of writing software, which is also fun. I don\'t have time to do both.
