This 33 year old company just continues to make money every year no matter what the economy is doing. Income from this company comes from several sources. First and foremost is recycling scrap gold and silver. They purchase scrap gold and silver over the counter at rates between 60-65% of what the refinery will pay them. They accumulate scrap until they have a sufficient quantity to obtain the highest payback percentages from their refiner. This accumulation usually takes about 3 weeks. At this point they call the refinery, lock in a price, and receive an immediate 90% advance by bank wire. They then ship the material and settle the assay the following week. These are generally about $35,000 shipments sent by USPS registered mail.

They also buy and sell gold and silver as a broker in exactly the same fashion as a stock broker handles stocks. This is commission based buying/selling. They keep a fixed inventory on hand much the same as a shoe store keeps shoes in stock, selling and replacing as needed.
Lastly, they keep an inventory of collector coins and estate jewelry to sell retail. Here the margins tend to be 20% for coins and 50% for estate jewelry.

The company operates with just 1 owner and 1 employee. The owner will stay on for an extended training period to fully educate the buyer in all aspects of the business.
