What Does an ActionCOACH do?
As an ActionCOACH Business Coach, you will coach multiple business owners in your local community – working in long term (12 months or more) relationships and helping them build profits and business success. You will put our proven systems to work, and be part of a team of dedicated professionals throughout California.
How is coaching different from consulting?
It begins with the old adage “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for a day. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime."
A business coach will train and mentor business owners, becoming the sounding board, confidant, teacher and fellow business owner. The coach actually holds them accountable and is there throughout the implementation process. The focus is business impact as measured by profit, performance, consistency and ease of running the business. The coach guides business owner on WHAT to do, then teaches them HOW to implement and hold them accountable to ensure implementation and sustainability.
Consulting on the other hand is typically focused on solving a specific problem based on the consultant’s knowledge, skills and experience. The fees are based upon work/tasks completed. The consultant is trading their time for dollars in a shorter term, transactional relationship.
Put it another way – coaches are generalists, and consultants are specialists.
