A short drive away from the greater Los
Angeles and San Diego metropolitan areas (its
primary feeder markets), Palm Springs is a
well established leisure-driven market and
convenient getaway. The area is also popular
among Canadians and northern U.S.
residents, the 'snowbirds,' who visit the city
during the colder winter months because of
its mild climate. The height of the tourism
season is from January through April, when
festivals and special events are most plentiful
and when the weather is also most favorable.

transformed into the new Palm Springs Art Museum Architecture and
Design Center which opened in November 2014.
* The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the world's largest rotating
tramcar. The tram offers a ten-minute ride into the cliffs of Chino
Canyon and is a famous visitor attraction just northwest of Downtown
