Total of 14,764 completed deals involving California business for sale offerings in 2013 exceeds the count of 14,368 sales of small and mid-sized businesses in the state the year before, according to the BizBen Index.  

A total of 120 small and mid-sized Orange County business for sale offerings were sold last month, a decline of about 28.6% from the 168 sale count recorded in October last year, it was announced by the BizBen Index.  

The total of business for sale deals that closed in October dipped to 1,143, a decline of about 18% from the number of competed escrows on small and mid-sized businesses recorded during October 2012, according to figures released by the BizBen Index.  

The Federal Government shutdown has had an "immediate, personal and devastating effect on thousands of Californians who depended on SBA loan programs to help finance the purchase of a small business," according to Peter Siegel, MBA, Founder and President of BizBen.com.  

A total of 1,336 completed business for sale transactions in California last month marked an 8.4% increase over the 1,232 sales recorded the same month last year, it was reported by the BizBen.com Index.  

A total of 327 small and mid-sized business for sale transfers were completed in Los Angeles County last month, an increase of 19.3% compared to the 274 deals completed in August of last year, according to Peter Siegel and the BizBen.com Index.  

The sum of 30 small and mid-sized business for sale offerings that resulted in deals in Sacramento County last month represents a drop of nearly one-third from the 44 transactions for county businesses recorded during the same month last year, according to the BizBen.com Index.  

The 116 transactions posted on San Diego County business for sale offerings that sold last month represents an increase of 46.8% over the count of 79 small and mid-sized businesses sold the same month last year, according to the BizBen.com Index.  

The 119 small and mid-sized business for sale offerings that changed hands in Orange County last month represent a jump of nearly one-third over the 90 transactions completed the prior August, according to the BizBen.com Index.  

A total of 55 small and mid-sized business for sale offerings resulted in deals in Santa Clara County last month, a slight decline from the 58 sales of county businesses recorded during the same month last year, according to the BizBen.com Index.
